In order to create opportunities for scholars in Vietnam and France to exchange and exchange academic knowledge as well as make recommendations applicable to trust in Vietnam, on October 29, 2024, the University of Economics and Law, VNU-HCM (UEL) in collaboration with the French Embassy and the University of Paris 2 organized the international workshop "Trust/Fiducie - Applicability in Vietnam".
In his opening speech at the workshop, Associate Professor, Dr. Le Vu Nam - Vice President of UEL said that currently, trust issues have not been mentioned much in the 2015 Civil Code and are only mentioned in specialized laws such as the Law on Securities, the Law on Credit Institutions, etc. This causes difficulties in adjusting the law, resolving disputes when they arise and in many cases lacks transparency, creating doubts about the honesty of charitable activities.

“With the presence of many scientists, experts, and researchers from many countries, I believe that the Workshop will receive many positive exchanges and discussions, propose many interesting ideas and recommendations, creating more foundations for legislators and management agencies in Vietnam to build and perfect trust institutions” - Vice Principal Le Vu Nam expressed.
The Workshop “Trust/Fiducie - Application potential in Vietnam” took place all day with 9 presentations by speakers, researchers, and lawyers from Paris 2 University, France; Tunghai University, Taiwan; University of Economics and Law, VNU-HCM…

In addition to the sharing and discussion on trust in the French legal system in particular and the international legal system in general presented by French speakers, Academician, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Dien - Senior Advisor of the Institute of International and Comparative Law, UEL analyzed and clarified the possibility of applying the trust regime in Vietnam.
