Law Students at CP All Group
CP ALL GROUP – LESSONS FROM THE 7 - ELEVEN RETAIL EMPIRE
During the trip, UEL law students had the opportunity to visit the headquarters of CP ALL, a subsidiary of Charoen Pokphand (CP) Group, one of Southeast Asia’s largest conglomerates with annual revenues in the hundreds of billions of USD. CP ALL currently operates more than 14,000 7 - Eleven convenience stores across Thailand and has implemented cutting edge digital solutions to optimize its supply chain, warehouse management, and financial services.
Students directly observed operations at CP ALL’s distribution center and explored how the corporation has built a vertically integrated ecosystem from production to retail. Particularly noteworthy was CP ALL’s "Enterprise education integration" model in human resource training, where the company designs its own educational programs to ensure students are work ready upon graduation.
Moreover, UEL students gained valuable exposure to how a large scale enterprise establishes and manages various civil legal relationships ranging from commercial contracts and legal liabilities in retail operations to consumer protection policies, data privacy compliance, and corporate social responsibility. This provided a vivid example of how civil law principles are applied in modern business practices.

Law students at PIM
Students also participated in a knowledge sharing session at Panyapiwat Institute of Management (PIM), where they explored the pioneering "Corporate University" model. Fully invested in by CP Group, PIM applies the “Learning by Doing” philosophy, allowing students to study while gaining paid internships across the corporation's subsidiaries.
DPU – GLOBAL PERSPECTIVES FROM A LEADING THAI UNIVERSITY
The academic journey continued at Dhurakij Pundit University (DPU), where UEL students immersed themselves in a multicultural academic environment during a campus tour and guest lecture session. DPU is widely recognized for its international programs, state of the art facilities, and student centered teaching approach.
At DPU, students encountered a truly international academic setting where civil law is not limited to national borders but is also analyzed through comparative legal studies and international private law frameworks. Through academic discussions, students gained insights into current reforms in civil law systems across ASEAN especially in the context of transnational migration, cross border marriage, digital transactions, and the sharing economy.
NURTURING UEL STUDENTS INTO GLOBAL CITIZENS
For UEL Civil Law students, this study tour was an opportunity to expand their legal thinking and deepen their understanding of the demands placed on modern legal systems in a globalized world. The experience laid a solid foundation for balancing legal theory with practice and equipping students to tackle complex civil law issues.
Above all, the trip reminded students that: “Law does not merely reside in textbooks, it is alive and constantly evolving in the flow of commerce, education, and society.” These invaluable experiences fostered deeper legal insight and inspired a proactive spirit of continual learning, legal comparison, and practical application.
Though the journey has ended, it has sparked a strong and promising belief in a new generation of UEL civil law professionals competent, practice oriented, regionally knowledgeable, and ready to thrive in a global context.
