To us, though short but memorable journey of ours are not just series of legal-insight acquirements, societal comprehensions, or even eventful experiences at India. As there are more of this delightful Immersion Program than meets the eye, for this trip shall bond a profound and collaborative connection between the two University of different countries, hereafter.

Jindal Global University (JGU), this 2024 Immersion Program has been a privilege opportunity for students of UEL (stand for University of Economics and Law) Law Faculty; such program was functioned from the 4th till 11th of March, year 2024.

After 2 weeks of preparation for the journey, with profound supports which we had received from Dean of the Faculty of Law and the Board of Directors of the University of Economics and Law (UEL), we started our journey afterwards.

At 1 a.m., on March 4, 2024, we landed at Indira Gandhi International Airport. After completing the admission procedures, we were enthusiastically welcomed by the student ambassadors of JGU and took the crew members to the dorm resides inside JGU campus after an approximate amount of three hours by bus. By the time we arrived at our dorm, we were pretty much exhausted, therefore we went to the well-prepared bed of such comfy room right away.

In the next morning, we attended the welcome party, we were introduced to the history of development and achievements of JGU, as well as our academic program, our lives. Moreover, in addition to JGU’s academic and teaching successes, what amazed us so much is JGU campus and facilities, thus school are rated and ranked as the top private university in India and have achieved many high rankings on the World Ranking. Also, Professors of JGU had carefully prepared necessitous supplements, such as water, chai tea (exceptionally delicious), and cookies during classes of such exchange. Thus, our first lesson of this immersion program went on happily.

At JGU, we sense this is, but an absolutely friendly and welcoming environment, for not just only us but to all international students. Already, this campus is filled with an abundance of international students, coming from many countries of the world, for which JGU courses are being exercised 100% in English, not to mention, by reputable professors in India. The lectures at JGU are highly interactive, class-size is designated to law students to as students shall feel comfortable and actively interact with the professors.

Study sessions at JGU's Campus during immersion program

Throughout every lesson, we were taught many of about Indian law and its relationship to other norms in society. Many studies provide us with an overview of the Indian legal system, especially constitutional, criminal and commercial law. Besides, we have the opportunity to discover about the procedural mechanisms in India, especially the public-interest lawsuit mechanism, nevertheless practically observed through an online trial by the Supreme Court of India.

Along with coursing activities at JGU campus, we were very lucky and delightful, to have our chance of visiting Sanjay Dewan & Associates law firm in Delhi, whereas India’s lawyers are practicing here, thus we are grateful that such law firm had shared to us many of knowledgeable understandings.

Students and lecturers of the Faculty of Law (UEL) participate and interact with Indian students and professors in the "Cutural Night" activities

Nonetheless, without a stop at academic activities, UEL Law students however, had given opportunity for Indian culture engagement and experience, alongside with the professors of JGU. Many to name, as Hindi lesson, Cultural Night, Bollywood movie watching session, visiting Sonipat market, Chowki Dhaani, are but a wonderful time to us all. Though most profound experience among others, is no other than of when we were touring the infamous Taj Mahal – one of the seven wonders, for which the sight of every corner of Taj Mahal are magnificent by merely glancing. All these memories had truly given us an entirely different perspective of India’s culture, its diversity is immensely intriguing in reality, in comparison to which we learned through the internet or social media.

Thus, every journey must come to an end, and so did ours. Such lovely happening, from the India experience, are but a wonderful memoir that is part of our book of life. We are so much grateful for this journey of ours. Above all, we would like to give regards to the enthusiastic support of the professors in the Faculty of Law (UEL) and JGU, as well as the Indian and international friends during the trip.

In the end, we are in hope that this India immersion program of ours shall bridge the collaborative cooperation between UEL and JGU, in the upcoming future. Nevertheless, we sincerely wishes many of UEL and JGU students that they shall be given chances of exchanging and experiencing brilliant journey such as ours.
